Palestinian Islamic Jihad Leader Muhammad Al-Hindi Speaks about the Demographic Balance between Jews and Arabs and Declares: They Cannot Stop Us from Committing Martyrdom

Following are excerpts from a speech by Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader Muhammad Al-Hindi, which aired on Al-Jazeera TV on May 20, 2006.

Muhammad Al-Hindi: As you know, the essence of the Zionist enterprise is to bring the Jews of the world and to settle them in Palestine. This is the essence of the [Zionist] enterprise, and it has been struck to the core in this Intifada. This Intifada has reduced the security of the Jews within their cities, within the Zionist cities - Tel Aviv, Netanya, and elsewhere.

They are no longer capable of bringing European Jews... Sharon promised to bring one million Jews from Europe, and one million from the USSR - but he didn't bring any. The Jews from the USSR went to Europe and America, because there is no security in Israel.

Sharon was forced to bring dozens of thousands of Ethiopian and Indian Jews, whose Judaism is in doubt, and who, to this day, are not accepted as Jews by the Chief Rabbinate. He brought them to cover up this failure.

Furthermore, because of the Intifada and the resistance, some have emigrated again - from Israel to America. You know the story of the granddaughter of Menachem Begin, who left her home in Tel Aviv, and went with her children to live in Brooklyn, in the United States. She said to the media: "I know my grandfather would roll over in his grave, because of what I have done. But what can I do? I have children, and there is no security in Israel." There are dozens like her. This Intifada has restored the balance.

[The Intifada] began with a stone, continued with a Kalashnikov, and ended with an explosives belt. We don't have airplanes or missiles to down their planes, but we can kill a pilot while he is sitting in a coffee shop in Tel Aviv.

Therefore, the experience we are gaining... We don't have anything? We are manufacturing and developing missiles. Missiles are launched from Gaza on a daily basis. Therefore, the experience we gain is important. Determination is important. Demography is important.

It's amazing - Our women... Palestinian women have at least five, six, ten children. The mother of the martyr Muhammad Al-Sheik Khalil sacrificed four martyrs. She said... She came from Gaza to Syria. I met her in Gaza, and she told me her story. She told her story to some brothers in Damascus as well. She said: "I told myself, since I have eight sons, I will give three of them as martyrs to Allah. The first was martyred, then the second, then the third. I said: Allah be praised. Then the Jews withdrew from Gaza. But Allah said that He wanted a fourth martyr." So after the withdrawal, the fourth, Muhammad Al-Sheik Khalil, was martyred. She has four sons left - what a blessing.

On the other hand, Israel, and especially the Western Jews, do not have more than two or three children.

We are forbidden to study, work, or travel. We are forbidden everything, but there is one gate that is open - the gate of martyrdom. They cannot prevent us from committing martyrdom and dying as we wish, in a way that we believe pleases Allah. They cannot close the gate of heaven on the youth of Palestine. Therefore, we do not fear their power. What we do fear, however, is internal strife.

[...]

The danger posed by the Jews is not restricted to Palestine or the Palestinians. They are dangerous to the Islamic world in its entirety, because they prevent true revival anywhere in the world. Today they are conspiring in Sudan and in the Horn of African.

We have killed more than 1,500 Jews. In this Intifada, we, the Palestinian people, have killed more than 1,500 Jews. In the 1967 war, they lost only twelve soldiers. In the 1967 war, they occupied Sinai, the West Bank, Gaza, and the Golan Heights. Twelve soldiers... Now we have caused them losses, including generals and leaders who were killed. They were killed in Tel Aviv, Netanya and Jaffa - not on the frontline, but in their homes, restaurants, and clubs.
