The following are excerpts from a Friday sermon in Qom, Iran. The preacher is Ayatollah Ebrahim Amini:

Don't [the US and UK] think that these murderous acts [in Iraq] will cause the Muslim public to consider them as hostile? Do they want to be hated more than they already are? How do they allow themselves to commit so many crimes? Is this the same democracy that Bush, Blair, and Sharon want to bring the Iraqi people as a gift? Death to this democracy. Is this how you want to present this democracy to the world? Shame on this democracy. Are you humans? Animals? What are you? I don’t know how the world public keeps silent. The international forums keep silent in face of these crimes and say nothing. Where is the UN? Where is the Organization of Islamic Conference? Where are the countries of the region? Why don't they utter a sound? Where is the American and British public? Don't they see these sights? They have become reviled. Enough. Why do they commit so many crimes? Stop it. Enough with the treachery. Enough with the crimes. The Iraqi people must know that they will steadfast. Even if half of them will be killed, they will not give up.

The only solution is for them to put an end to their aggression and their invasions and allow the Iraqi people to shape their own destiny. The Iraqis will do so. In any case, America will not be able to stay here.
