Following are excerpts
from statements made by Egyptian activist Ahmad
Duma, which aired on Al-Alam TV on December 19, 2011.
Ahmad
Duma: I consider the armed forces to be occupation forces. I was
in Gaza and had to deal with the Zionist occupation forces, and I challenge
you to cite anything done by the Zionist occupation forces to the Palestinians
that was as filthy, as despicable, and as lacking in manliness and honor
as what the armed forces did in the past few days.
[...]
When the armed forces
and the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces [SCAF] leaped into power,
they falsely claimed that the rebels handed the rule to them. Now they
deny this, claiming that they draw their legitimacy from the referendum.
This too is an utter lie. SCAF does not have legitimacy.
[...]
The legitimacy of SCAF
was toppled along with the Mubarak regime, because SCAF was part and
parcel of the filthy regime that was brought down, and SCAF too will
be toppled very soon by the same revolution that toppled Mubarak.
For over 30 years or
more under Mubarak, [SCAF] was involved in numerous scandals with regard
to the siege of Gaza. It remained silent over what it later labeled
"crimes and tyranny of the regime." SCAF was involved in dubious
arms deals, and all its members received bribes.
[...]
By Allah, if we asked
a doorman or a cab driver to run this country, he would not have carried
out all the crimes committed by SCAF and its members.
[...]
We will topple the government,
and we will topple SCAF, and we will place them on trial. I hope that
SCAF members and all those who sing their praises hear this, because
this will happen soon.
