The following are excerpts from an interview with Iraqi Shiite cleric As'ad Muhammad Qasir. Sahar 1 TV aired this interview on July 5, 2005

Interviewer:Abu Yasser From Saudi Arabia asks about the drivers who transport equipment to the invading armies – American and others? The Prophet Muhammad said that whoever equips and invader is considered and invader himself.

Sheik Qasir: Those who help the Americans, even if only with a smile, a greeting, a handshake, or just a word – this help is one of the most forbidden things, let alone those who help the Americans by transporting food, weapons, etc. We must treat the Americans as enemies: "Consider them an enemy." The Americans have a plan to harm the culture and capabilities of Islam, so we must treat them as enemies, and we mustn't help them in anything, not even with a single word, let alone what some people do. As for those who do help them – should he be killed or not? It is not that simple. This is a matter for religious law because we must see whether or not this was excusable.
