Iranian Leader Ali Khamenei: It Is Not Unusual for Heads of State to Wish for the Death of Another Country's President

Following are excerpts from a speech made by Iranian Leader Ali Khamenei, aired on Jaam-e Jam2 TV on December 8, 2005.

Ali Khamenei: The people who control America today make decisions like drunkards. They do not understand what they are doing at all.

Ten or eleven years ago, when Yitzhak Rabin was murdered, our president at the time spoke his mind. They made a great fuss because our president expressed his happiness at the murder of the Israeli president.

Is it so rare for heads of state to wish that the head of another state be killed? They say this explicitly. It happens all the time. Nowhere else in the world do people get excited about this. The Zionist influence on Western and European governments is what, unfortunately, causes such a fuss. In addition, they took advantage of the opportunity, and linked (Ahmadinejad's statements) to the atomic issue. The fool who was the first to link this to the atomic issue did not understand that nuclear weapons are not meant for annihilating political systems and regimes.

What destroys regimes is the peoples' resistance, their determination, and their struggle. Determination and struggle are present in Palestine, and, with God's grace, will bring down the Zionist regime.
